What are the opportunities for qualified renewable installation engineers?
Registered renewable installation engineers are highly sought after as all engineers have to be legally registered and skilled with the knowledge to install the latest green (money saving!) energy systems.
Is it possible to start working as a renewable installation engineer before the end of the training?
There are certain building work you can undertake, depending on your prior experience but you can’t perform all services if you are not registered and to do so is illegal, this could lead to prosecution. You would also risk putting other people, including your life in danger which is the reason for these rules.
Is it difficult to get work experience?
There is a shortage of skilled renewable installation engineers in the UK. After you finish your qualification you will be in a much better place to approach employers for work experience or even full-time positions as you will have the qualifications that prove that you have met high standards.
